anyone think it would actually work as a stage show? (nicole kidman and ewan mcgregor version)

i love the movie, and i think that if the right director, it could be a really good production. possibly.

maybe, there might be a few problems...because everyone would be comparing it to the movie, but very true- with a good director- i would definitely wanna see it!! its one of my favorite movies!! :)

I have ALWAYS wanted to see this on stage!

couldn't have said it better myself cturtle. The movie is a hopeless mess. Don't put it on stage. Thanks.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.

I know when La Boheme was on B-way, Baz mentioned that he was working on a stage adaptation of Moulin Rouge and Strictly Ballroom. I, personally, would rather see Strictly Ballroom adapted. It has all the elements that I think would make up a good adaptation.

Strictly ballroom would be great on stage.

I'm content how it is. I cannot really see it working and keeping its magic onstage ... gah no ...

I wonder how much the rights fees from all the disparate musicians would cost.

I'm sure it was an issue for the movie as well, movies tend to be more lucrative I would assume.

The movie was hardly a disaster.

I actually think this would be amazing on stage! I would love to see it.

I'm not sure if they'd be able to achieve the same epileptic seizure effect onstage.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I think at this rate, every single movie ever made will be tranferred to the stage at some point.
