Sorry this is so late, I've been really busy. Actually on vacation in AZ right now, but have some free time.
SO! I went to see Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, a Wed matinee, with my music theatre camp. I was excited to see it again, I'd seen it May 14 already, with the entire OBC. The only people who were out for this show was the original Conductor, Lenore, and Hotel Manager- nobody big.

This was the first show I've seen twice, and i loved it even more the second time. You noticed more things and saw different things than you saw the first. One of the only inconsistencies that I noticed was that Norbert's fight with the beef jerky was significantly shorter this time. Still hysterical, though. Also, Joanna was a little off, but that's ok. I mean, hell, she's still Joanna Gleason, right?
All the big names got entrance applause- I don't think Greg did, though. I would think he deserves some. Just my opinion.
So, all in all, the show was great. All over again. The ending harmony is one of my favorites. *much delayed* 8/2/05 DRS Review and Talkback. Sherie at the end was better than ever!
Everyone was really on that day, minus Jo, and they gave the show the most energy they could. It really paid off. I'd definitely see it again.

After the show, since I was with a camp, we got to have a talkback with the cast. First, Andrew Asnes came out. Then, much much to my surprise, Norbert came out and talked with us. Last time I saw the show, he didn't even talk between the matinee and the night show at the stage door, so I just found it interesting he came out. I believe her name was Paula ( i didn't really catch what Andrew said) came out, and then, i THINK, Grasan Kingsberry, also came out. Then, Gregory Jbara came out. He's such a nice guy, I went back after the night show in May, and met him. I was not at all surprised he came to speak with us.

They all talked about the show, hard work, what it was like getting to Broadway, how they use the audience for all their energy, etc. They talked about the colleges they went to, and they also discussed how, with a job on Broadway, about 1/3 of the job is looking for the next job- I found this interesting, but it also makes perfect sense. They talked about not getting into auto pilot, and how sometimes (I asked about how they keep energy levels for eight days a week, instead of eight shows) it DOES feel like eight days a week. Norbert also explained how it was nice and easy to do another show with Sherie, that there was no tension or anything at the beginning, as they'd worked together on Rent, The Last Five Years, concert reading of Feeling Electric.

as my first review, please disregard any errors and my sparseness (ha, sorry if that isn't a word), but now I need to run.
Hope you all enjoyed DRS (many times:) ) as much as I did!
Can't wait to go into the city again!

Aww, glad you had a great time! I too was lucky enough to attend a talkback in June...I think...it was the day of the DRS signing at Tower and I know Greg and told him I was going to the show that night so he told me to stay for it. It was for some kind of people to people group. I actually made a post about it, but I'll just briefly stay here as an audience, they were amazing, soo energetic and really made seeing the show that night a great experience. Glad you got to hear from Norbie, he talked at ours, but kept falling on his bag b/c the poor little boy was tired.

That's so cool that Andrew came out! And Paula(Leggett Chase). We just had the main cast, Jo just came out for a quick hi, but Greg knew the person in charge of this thing so he arranged it so he, John, Norbie, Sherie and Sara were all there, it was def an awesome experience.

I agree I'm trying to figure out a way to get Greg some entrance applause, but it's pretty difficult...he just kinda comes on as music is playing so even if I start, it's difficult to even hear myself. Hmmm.

Well, I obviously love the show and glad you enjoyed it a second time!
