My community theatre group decided to do Beauty and the Beast over the summer. But, true to form, Disney has proven to be a monumental pain in the ass, so we are no longer doing their version, but an original one that opened around the same time.

Does anyone know where I could find info and/or reviews on the show?

there are dozens of versions of this show floating around -- do you have any other details about it?

The music was wirtten by Michael Heinzsch, lyrics by Anne Stanley. The book was written by Anne S, Alex H. Urban, and Alison Bretches. The show opened just before Disney's did in 1994.

I am currently doing a non-disney BATB but I don't have my script with me to check the writers.

How does the opening song go?

David walked into the valley With a stone clutched in his hand He was only a boy But he knew someone must take a stand There will always be a valley Always mountains one must scale There will always be perilous waters Which someone must sail -Into the Fire Scarlet Pimpernel

I don;t think it was on Broadway. It's not on ibdb.com.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

My show never made a cast recording when it opened, so it'll be like doing an original musical.

Jacob, my opening song is sung by the character Elipsis, and it's called "Enjoy The Show"

That may have been the same one Aris Sas was in.
