Has anyone ever got tickets from www.nytix.com? They sell broadway shows, but I was looking into getting the month membership to attend live tv show tapings. They supposedly have info about getting standby tickets for The View, Rachel Ray, and Regis and Kelly. since I don't live in the city I really don't know what all the policies are for getting ticket for tv taping and this site claime to provide them for a small fee. A membership is like $3.00 and I'm tempted to try. But I wanted to check here first to see if anyone knew if it was a legit site.
I've attached the link in case anybody wants to check it out.

fyi you should never have to pay for tv show taping tickets- except in cases of extra special tickets sold as fundraisers, etc. But regular old tv show taping tickets are free, (I believe there's even laws/codes of some kind that govern as to why tv taping tix have to be free? if I am remembering correctly from my tv pa days), and also first come first serve, which is why there are no getting in guarantees (again, except in the case of extra special tix sold as fundraisers where they guarantee to get you in, maybe even throw in a pic, or tour, etc.).

The View tix:

(scroll down for standby policy)

Regis & Kelly tix:

Rachael Ray tix:

eta: I would use the link below for NYC tv tix info, as the official NYC tourism site actually links back to the tv shows themselves, with the correct info that tix are free, rather than using that nytix site. $3- seriously?!

I'm with Anakela all the way on this. If there is a TV show you want to go see, you are better off looking up their website, or the website of the TV channel it is on, and you can usually quickly find out information about tickets that way. I've been to 3 popular prime time talk shows and each was free, though they require a bit of waiting. The NYC website is good too (I'd never seen it before), though I think a couple of the shows listed have more recently updated policies.

Try http://www.broadwaybox.com for free access to some discount codes for theater.
