It began during WWI in order to save fuel by reducing the need for artificial lighting, and although some states observed DST in between wars, it was not nationally observed again until WWII. Then the Uniform Time Act of 1966 made DST an official bi-annual observation, although it wasn't until 1986 that the current 2 AM first Sunday in April/last Sunday in October set-up was made official.
But you gotta love the extra hour at the bar and then the extra hour of sleep. I know I did.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!
And I heard that the reason it was pushed back to April was because the golf courses wanted the extra income from the extra hour!

I turned my clocks back last night as a celebration of the Marlins victory over the Yankees!!!!!!! Fish, anyone?
What happens if you want to watch something at 2 & turn it on . You than have to turn your clocks back to one. Where does the extra hour go ?
As far as I am concerned, it is all nonsense. Just leave it as one time all year round & forget fiddling with clocks twice a year

Move to Indiana, Roxy, they don't celebrate Spring Forward Fall Back.
Oh I could kick my self I turned back all my clock excluding my cell phone which is what I use as my alarm clock but being that yesterday was Sunday I didn't realize that and got up an hour early. But on the plus side I was running late but now I have time to check the boards.

I turned my clock back all the way to when I didn't have back hair. It's a great time in my life.
No, I turned mine forward an hour as we people in Australia have gone into Daylight Saving. Summer is coming!
