what was the oklahoma float (that chenowitz sang on) in the thanksgiving parade representing? or in honor of or whatever? like the purpose? i love chenowitz and am happy she was there but why?......
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Everytime I saw that float, I kept thinking of Oklahoma? from DRS. "Not a tree or a Jew, to block the lovely view. And Oral Roberts U!" Yeah, I'm bad.
i like sutton foster's rendition better it had more energy, but cheno was good nonetheless.

Oklahoma, the state, is 100 years old. It represented the State, the people, and thier accomplishments.

I was skimming through the CBS coverage (they had a couple of their own performances -- "For Good" from Wicked and something representing Spelling Bee -- and John Tartaglia was there with Rod). They did provide background on the float, making me think that the best parade might be one cobbled together from both stations. (CBS had none of the parade performances.)
The float was in honor of Oklahoma's 100th anniversary.

Well, I live in Oklahoma (only until I graduate, of course, then I'm out of here), but I like to think the float was built in honor of me. Seriously, we don't have much to look forward to in Oklahoma, so we apparently have to put a float in to commemorate our centennial two years before it actually happens (2007). But hey, I love me some Kristin Chenoweth, and she's from Oklahoma, so yay for that.
Yeah Oklahoma! I just realized that OCU is older than the state. Our centennial was last year!
Hey, zoran, we must be neighbors if you go to OCU. Ok, well, not really neighbors if you count Moore, but close enough! Boomer Sooner, and all that jazz...
Is Oklahoma really ok? I have never been there so I am just not sure.
Haha, as much as I like to make fun of the state, it's not that bad, despite the fact that the general trend is hardcore conservative. When people from other states come here, which I mainly see during football games, they always say that the people are very nice and hospitable, so that makes me feel good! Granted, there is not a lot to do here that's just being offered, you have to get creative and make your own fun, which makes having crazy friends a very good thing. Someone coming from a big city like NYC going into Oklahoma might hate it, but it's home and always will be. ::end Oklahoma commercial::
