Posted: 8/21/04 at 2:10amit's my favorite topic! Norm Lewis has one of the most unique and beautiful voices onstage today. It's very hard to describe the quality of his voice (I try often) but I mainly love how smooth and robust it is without ever sounding strained. And what diction! I saw him in Side Show and am looking forward to making the trip to North Carolina next month to see him in Ragtime!

Posted: 8/23/04 at 4:41pmI saw him in CHICAGO back in March. He is really good. He does seem pretty fit to play Coalhouse in Ragtime, though no one can hold a candle to Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Posted: 8/23/04 at 5:32pmDeena Jones - Frenchie Davis of "I got booted from American Idol for posing nude" fame played Effie. She has an amazing voice and really sang the crap out of her songs, but she isn't the strongest actress.
