I've been scamed. A few months ago, at a chain restaurant in Times Square (TGIF at 47th) I let the waiter take my card out of sight, and a few days later got billed for a bunch of purchases in Mexico City. Luckily my company (GM MC) caught wind and stopped everything to my satisfaction.
Has this happened to anyone else!

I think it's high time for restaurants to catch on and let us know if they're up on this.

Maybe wrong board?
But I'm glad you got it all sorted out.

I know many restaurants in Britain that have portable credit card scanners that the waiters take around with them to the table, so your credit card never leaves your sight. I'm surprised they aren't used in the US, especially with credit card scams increasing.
