i did a search...and didn't find what i was looking for...so...
i am looking for a play--preferably dramatic, but not a must--for a high school production. it needs as large a cast as possible and to be heavy on female roles, as it is for an all girls school.
also, when i say a large cast, i am just looking for a way to get as many kids as possible on stage...whether as "extras" in a cafe...etc...
any ideas? please? :o)
The Crucible...?
Lol... I thought you meant a cast for "heavy" females... I was going to say hairspray...
Fiddler on the Roof has alot of women, but you need strong males as well.

She said play - not a musical.

Song of Survival
You can stick a whole bunch of girls in the chorus, that's what my school did. It's a great story and an all-female cast. I think there were 20-some people in the show. It's not a musical per se, but there are a couple of songs. It's about an internment camp on Sumatra during WWII where the women draw strength from music.
THANKS so much! any more thoughts?

Crimes of My Heart
- it is not a large cast but more women than men.
I would say Medea, as it has 3 male parts to (the way we did it) 16 females, but I guess 19 isn't a really big cast is it?
Alice in Wonderland. My school did that this year for the fall play and we had a fairly large cast, not as many kids as our musical, but still enough. Also, maybe Romeo and Juliet. I think there are lots of extras in that story and enough roles for boys and girls.
