You guys have horrible suggestions.
The thing that makes an April Fools joke funny is that one could see it actually happening, or at least not THAT far out of the realm of possibility.
BARBARA WALTER TO STAR IN GREY GARDENS 2 is not a good joke.
BILL CLINTON TO JOIN CHICAGO FOR 3 WEEKS is a good joke.

"Young Frankenstein to release box office data."
...followed by a story about how, for tax purposes, Young Frankenstein would start listing its grosses (as Broadway shows typically do), and was also making that information available retroactive to the start of its run. The information shows that YF has been consistently operating at a loss, and would almost certainly not recoup its investment.
An IRS spokesman noted that there had been some questions about irregularities in the funding scheme for the production, as Mel Brooks appeared to have sold approximately 200% of his interest in the show to outside investors. A spokesman for Brooks refused comment.

Several years back (I think maybe three or four) there was a FABULOUS article about Andrew Lloyd Webber being brought in to help do rewrites for Bounce.
Found it!

Posted: 3/31/08 at 11:37pmI hadn't seen that Bounce one. That was hilarious! I loved the way it progressed from slightly plausible to over the top insane. Loved it.

I fell so hard for the West Side Story one of this year. Great job!
I should have realized at this:
"Something about an orange winter and the word of your bullets. I have no idea what it means but it's very fresh and contemporary".
Unfortunately, I didn't.
Here's something I wish was a joke: The Phantom of the Opera: The sequel.

Posted: 4/1/08 at 11:15pmThe only thing that got me this year was Brave Sir Robin's Kiss of the Spider Woman trasfer thread.
With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
"Not Barker, Todd is the only person I've ever known who could imitate Katherine Hepburn...in print." -nmartin-

Posted: 4/2/08 at 12:14amim happy i didnt see that spiderwoman thread. I am so in love with that show that i would have been so mad to have been fooled. I actually got fooled badly. My sister sent me fake sweeney tour tickets that actually were like scanned and looked authetic. I even called someone to join me and then she told me they were fake.
