I'm seeing dessa rose in a few weeks and can't wait to see Rachel york on stage. My friend saw it a few weeks ago and said that during the first act, she had to be replaced by her understudy. Does anybody here know what happened? Thanks!

Hannah,

Rachel suffered from food poisoning. She was actually feeling very ill about 10 minutes prior to curtain but tried to tough it out anyway. What a trooper! It became impossible, however, so her understudy took over. She recuperated the next day and has been back in the show ever since.
