question about tracey and hairspray

i have been wondering since so many understudies have gone on for MJW, do all them use the same charecter voice mjw uses when they play tracey, or do they make up there own or just use ther real singing voice?? thanks :)

Kathy Brier uses a similar character voice. Katry Grenfall and Shoshana Bean do not.

The actresses playing Tracy should have the squeeky voice, that's what the character calls for, doesn't it?? Since they are in the same run as Marissa they should perform it almost the same way, hence, understudy of standby. If the show closed up, or went on tour and the voices were different after that then that's understandable, but the voices should be similar.
