I saw Legally Blonde Opening Preview Night in SF and I remember a song where Kritzer and the girls were singing to Elle then Kritzer belted this crazy, wailing high note, but it's not in the cd. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

"Love and War," which was re-written to become what is now "Positive."

wow, and "positive" is such a lame song. oh well. we don't want too many people singing better than laura bell bundy. As it is we have Shindel's crazy vocal pyrotechnics singing "Legally Blonde"...

It's funny because "Positive" is like about 80 or 90% of the same lyrics as "Love and War," but I too love "Love and War" so much more than "Positive".

I agree that "Love and War" is a better song. Not sure why they changed it for NY for a song that's not as good. They should have left the show alone because the SF reviews seem to be better, overall, then they got from the NY critics.

"I've lost everything! Luis, Marty, my baby with Chris, Chris himself, James. All I ever wanted was love." --Sheridan Crane "Passions" ------- "Housework is like bad sex. Every time I do it, I swear I'll never do it again til the next time company comes."--"Lulu" from "Can't Stop The Music" ----- "When the right doors didn't open for him, he went through the wrong ones" - "Sweet Bird of Youth" ------------ --------- "Passions" is uncancelled! See NBC.com for more info.

Seeing Annaleigh Ashford do the line "Ninja kick her through a door!" while doing a ninja kick will always be my favorite part of that song. *happy sigh* Haha.

NY critics are a lot tougher.

I actually do kinda get why they changed it, maybe- "Love & War" was a little 'darker' than pretty much every other song in the show- but it was just such a fun song. Kriter belting out 'whore' was just so great...and I also liked the 'yeah I'm talking to myself- so what?' line.

It doesn't matter if you live in New York or Milwaukee. The critics are not hard 'no matter what'. If it is a good show they will give it a good review.

Well Tap, according to your 'logic' guess the show must have been better in S.F. You sure seem to have all the inside info the rest of us peasants aren't privvy to.

A little known fact is that in the original screenplay, Pan's Labyrinth was Pan's FLAByrinth. Hmmmmmmm...glad they changed it.

What?
I never said that Legally Blonde was better in San Fransisco. All I said is that it is known to anyone who actually reads reviews that New York critics are A LOT harsher than critics in other cities.

In my post was responding to Yankee telling him that New York critics will give a show a good review if it is good.
