nmartin, no, you're not the only one getting the Jenny Craig version of the first page.
The piano bit with Dorothy is what made people laugh every time she appeared. That's when she was set to sing a ballad, that everyone laughed, because they expected something funny.
I also remember Loudon doing a cut number from La Cage written for Jay Garner. It was something along the lines of Everybody Could Have a Nice Day. I loved that woman so much.
The pit was made up of men and women. However, there was a woman who appeared onstage in just one number to play the grand piano. That number was Dorothy singing "Mame". The piano player's name was Sue Anderson I beleive.

Dragging this one out of the depths...
Does anyone have the clip of Dorothy Loudon singing "Have a Nice Day"? I found it months ago and loved it, but I can't seem to find it now.
The Production Company in Melbourne is currently presenting Jerry's Girls for a 10 performance season-11 Girls and 1 Man .
Seeing it Wed.so will report-have heard very good things.
Loved the Australian original way back when--those who do remember--Jeannie Little,Marcia,Judy Connelli. Was Jill and Nancye in it ?-can't remember but have the DVD somewhere.
I saw it on Broadway and loved the ladies but remember feeling slightly resentful paying full Broadway prices for what was essentially a nightclub act.
