Somehow I don't remember the homosexuality discussion scene between Peter and Robert being in the'95 Roundabout production or the Kennedy Center production with John Barrowman. Is it a new scene added for the Doyle version or is my memory just bad?

It's not a new scene for the Doyle production; it's in my copy of the libretto, which is a few years old.

It was not in the original Broadway production. It was added for the Donmar revival, and is an option to use (as is MARRY ME A LITTLE). But I had heard Sondheim was not fond of the scene.

It wasn't in the Roundabout production, either. Apparently the scene (or a scene like it) was in an early draft of the script. I think the first time it was put back in was the Donmar Warehouse production. (1996?)

Yes, the Donmar Warehouse production was the first production in which the scene appeared.

The version of this scene that's in Doyle's production is slightly revised and, I think, a bit less ambiguous than the Donmar version.
