GREASE Rush is $36.60 (rip off) and they will sell it up until curtain until the theatre is filled.
In other words, if you get there at 7:59pm, you'll end up somewhere in the front center orchestra.
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN has a lottery, and it is usually always busy. Though after they announce the winners, they offer to sell the remaining people in the lotto box mezzanine seats for $51.50 each or balcony seats for $26.50 each.
I have no idea how RENT lotto has been since the announcement.

Can anyone enlighten me...how does ruch actually work?
Do I just walk up to the Grease ticket window, say "I'm here for the student rush" and get what I'm given?

GREASE rush is only available for Tuesday evenings, Wednesday matinees, Thursday evenings, and Sunday evenings.
I already answered about whether it is easy to get.
Yes, walk up to the window, and ask for a student rush ticket, or tickets (up to two). They will ask for a Student ID, and sell you the tickets. Have cash.
