I don't know about Streetcar, but I did The Pillowman rush yesterday. They sell $25 tickets 3 hours before the show. I'm not sure how many; I think someone on this board said 12-14. Our seats were in a side box and we had a pretty good view. You should probably get there at least half an hour early. Good luck!
ETA: It's called a youth rush, so you have to be under 24. Each person can get two tickets. Updated On: 5/19/05 at 10:15 PM

Yes, I would say you should be there by 4:30 for The Pillowman. This is from Talkin' Broadway on Streetcar:

Subject to availability, a limited number of tickets are sold at the box office, when it opens, on the day of the performance. The tickets are $26.25 each and 2 tickets are sold per person. The seats are usually located in the rear mezzanine.
Student Rush: Subject to availability, student discounted tickets are sold at the box office, half an hour prior to curtain, on the day of the performance. The tickets are half price, a valid student ID is required, and one ticket is available per person.

I rushed Pillowman last Tuesday. The tickets went on sale on at 4:00 (the show's at 7 on Tuesdays). I got there at 3:15 and was second in line. The first 8 people get the boxes- I'm not sure where the rest end up. I was in the right box. It was quite a good view, but slightly obstructed on stage left, which was really only a problem in one part of the play. It's really a stunning play (that seems like the right thing to call it, and it's not a word I use often) and I highly recommend it.

My tickets were $25 each, not $26.25. I heard there are about 25 tickets, but I'm not sure because I left right after I bought mine.

I'm not sure how many tix there were, but there were probably a dozen or so people there on Wednesday afternoon. Also, I'm not sure if going solo affects where your seat is, because we were first in line and got the right box (the farthest two seats back, which I think was better than being closer) and the guy that was right behind us got orchestra row B, the seat against te wall (I think 10). I'm not sure if they skip some of the box seats for scattered singles if someone's there alone??? I don't know, but it was excellent, and I definitely want to try to swing by there again sometime this summer!

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)
