"A best musical is a flawless combination of music, dance, and acting. If a musical cannot fulfill all three parts, it should not be eligible for the category."
Flawless? That eliminates every best musical winner in the 80s.

I'd rather see a very good juke-box musical like "Jersey Boys" over a mediocre show like "The Color Purple" any day.
At least JB had a strong script and good actors, which most of the juke box shows don't seem to have.
I don't see "Chaperone" for a couple of weeks, so I can't speak to that show, but of all the other musicals (on Broadway) that I saw this season, "Jersey Boys" was the best... I think it says more about the weak musicals this year than it does about this particular show.
Sometimes a musical is greater than the sum of its parts.
