Why are there so many negatives about Shrek???
Doesn't everyone want a show to succeed? It's such a fun night
of theatre. It transends all age groups, and has something for everyone. The sets are awesome, the costumes are great, the music is definitely better than most are saying, and it's just a great time for all.

I love Shrek, but your shilling does it more bad than good.

Hey, I'm in my 70's, I took my grandkids to see it. I'm so far from shilling, just wondering why I see so much negative comments, not only about Shrek, but other shows, too.

Well that is your opinion. I disliked Shrek, I'm thankful I can't remember anything from it, that is how bad it was.

"Hey, I'm in my 70's, I took my grandkids to see it. I'm so far from shilling, just wondering why I see so much negative comments, not only about Shrek, but other shows, too."

Because people have opinions? Do they HAVE to say something positive about a show if they thought it was awful?

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I completely agree. People have their own opinions. I for one actually really enjoyed this show and laughed till I had tears in my eyes. (Really!)
But if there's one thing that really burns me is the fact that people wish closings upon other shows. Not only is it uncalled for, but in hard times like this, these shows are what bring Broadway the little bit of light that its getting at the moment. Families come into the city and take their kids for a great night of theater. Don't try to kill a family's enjoyment. Don't wish these things upon Broadway.
Sorry I had to write that, but seeing this really makes me sad.

It is definitely one of the better shows I have seen this year, in my opinion. I too was laughing to the point of tears.
