Wicked, definitely. And check out ticketmaster for tickets. Some websites also offer discount codes, so look for that.

Great, what is the SD? they would love to meet the actors. I think I'll go with wicked, then if we get there and have time and see a great deal on shrek tix for the day we may do that too. But def. wicked. I appreciate so much all your help. for tickets...i've looked at ticketmaster and there are a few seats still avail...there are better choices for seats at stub hub tho...anyone use them or recommend them?

SD is Stage Door, where some of the cast members come out and sign Playbills for fans who wait outside. There are threads you can search for which have the location for most of the theatres, or if you're at a show, you can ask an usher where the stage door for the theatre is, and they'll point you in the right direction.

When I saw this subject line I thought of suggesting SWEET CHARITY and THE LIFE...

In all honesty, stick with Ticketmaster. They sell the tickets at the value you would get them at the box office. From my experience of just looking, Stubhub is a rip off. It's basically the same as ticket scalping, in my opinion.

And, since you also mentioned Shrek as a second show, if you go to the TKTS booth in Times Square, you will more than likely be able to get discount tickets there. It is always up. The booth is located between Broadway and 7th, in the block of 46th and 47th street. It's right under a red staircase. You can't miss it. And I must say, this was a really cute show. The cast is great too.

I recommend Wicked now, Phantom in a few years.

I haven't seen Shrek yet, but do plan on seeing it eventually, so I can't say anything about it. I agree with others that Wicked would be better for that age range, and I loved both shows(Wicked and Phantom) equally. Since they are both such different shows, it's hard for me to compare them. A few things about Phantom, I saw it when I was 8, and I really enjoyed and fell in love with it. Of course, I got more out of it when I was older, but that's true of any play I saw as a young child, then saw again either as an older child or teen. Phantom is more Broadway-ish to me, and even though I enjoyed it at 8 years old, I was already really theatrically inclined and enjoyed everything about the theatre. But even so, I agree with others that Wicked is a better choice at that age. I recently saw Wicked for the first time, and it was amazing!
