Over a year ago, Sondheim did an interview with the Bloomberg press in which he said that he had started working on a brand new piece (NOT Groundhog Day) and that he was very excited about working on something new.

These things DO tend to take time to come to fruition, but ever since he made that comment, I have been anxious to hear about the topic (though of course he NEVER reveals those things in the press until he is ready).

As for Bounce and Groundhog, there has been plenty of talk AND press about work on both, so his assistant isn't telling anyone anything new, but then I wouldn't expect he WOULD.
