anyone done in yet? how does this work? i understand it's for sold out performances only. so if i wait at the box office before it opens on a day it is sold out (a sat matinee) would my chances be good? and what time should i get there?
There is none.
This has been stated several times already: "Spamalot" is not doing rush until after the show opens.
They are not doing rush, ever.
And they are 90% sure they're not doing standing room either.
This is what I was told at the B.O.

Spamalot isn't doing rush ever and for the safety of the performers, they have pulled SRO tickets.

I asked at the box office. The guy said that they tried it once.....and it was a "complete disaster" and thinks it is unlikely they will sell SRO. But that decision won't be made until after the show opens. I hope they do, because I really want to see the show, but don't want to pay the money.

Not to give anything away, but there are a number of entrances by castmembers in bulky costumes from the audience. They found SRO to be potentially dangerous for the actors.

Maybe they will institute a rush lottery or something. It's almost unheard of for a show not to offer any form of discounted tickets. I'd be interested in seeing the show because it's a great cast, but I'm not a Monty Python fan so I'm not interested in paying full
I think that they can't instate a lottery at this point, as they seem to have pre-sold all the seats for a while.

Seeming as the show is completely sold out through July, they have no seats to instate a rush policy....

I know...it's always a pisser when a show doesn't have many options for those of us who are financially challenged. I guess your best bet at Spamalot would be the rear balcony seats for $35. That's what I ended up opting for (going Monday). Sure they aren't the greatest seats, but I sat there for Gypsy, and it wasn't SO terrible. I guess when it comes down to it, a not so great seat is better than no seat at all!

I saw a bunch of people there yesterday at the cancellation line and adavanced sales line. Crazy amount of people in the lobby.
My boyfriend did cancellation line last Friday night. He got there at 5pm, and by 7:05 had two tickets (last row orchestra center)

Thanks for the advice.
i have never done cancellation for any show before...
does anyone know if it's even possible to get 3 tickets together?

Each theatre/show has a different policy, as in a limit as to how many tickets per person. Most theatres are 2, some are 1.
Surprisingly, I don't know the answer to that question... I've never been in a position where I've had to do cancellation tickets for anything at the Shubert. You'd have to ask there.
