spelling bee - opening preview

ok, so i was offered a ticket (couldn't use it because of my own show)... but my friend went and just reported back to me...

the production is SUPERB she said... the score and the book flow seemlessly and it is downright hysterical. she said standout performances tonight were given by celia, jesse, jose and deborah. she said dan and sarah were great as well, but that those four really stood out. apparently the last audience member onstage got his hard word right and the cast's reaction was great!!! she said that the audience LOVED it and that it looks prime for commercial success. she also said that circle in the square was the perfect location for the show. anything else would have been too big.. the intamcy really adds to the show. and they use the thrust to great effect, coming out during many points.. she sat 5th row center... she also said that there will be student rush (though if it's all sold out i don't know!)...

anyway, sorry it's so unspecific, but as i said, i couldn't go, so this is a friend's review over the phone!
