Hi!
My full name is Lori Anna Wheat..and I just hate it. Like I dont like Lori and my last name is just BAD. I would like to get a stage name, but I'm not sure what to change it to. Any good suggestions?
Also, do you put your stage name on a resume, or your real name , or both?

Try your middle name and your mother's maiden name. Yeah, I just completely made that up. But it could work. I'd be Marie Doyle. That's not bad.
What about Anna Lorie? (variation of your first name)

I second what Mythus said. I think it should still have some connection to your name or your family. I always liked that Bernadette Peters got her name because her fathers name was Peter.
Prsonally, I think your name is wonderful-- and it is YOU! Keep it -- when I was younger I hated my middle name and now have learnedhow unique is great...
I think in the theatre names don't matter as much..I think your name is great! keep it..that way when you're well known all the kids you knew in school will know they should have been nicer to you! :)
This coming from someone with a stage name (dropping my first name Matthew and going by M. William Panek) I agree with KMF, your three names fit very well together. Reminds me of Mary Ann Lamb, whom I love.
Do a search for the thread "funny drag names". There are some doozies there that are sure to get you attention!
I could see why YOU might dislike your name..but I think it's perfect. Keep it! It will probably get you attention at auditions etc.
how about Anna Whealor<-(combination of your first and last)?
Atleast your last name isn't like butt, or something, lol. How about Harriet Chadwick? Hmmm... let me think of a better one...
Oh My God, I actually know someone with the last name Butt, I feel soooo bad for them! every time the teacher calls out "Nina Butt" at attendence, all the guys snicker.
I dropped the "r" in my name and replaced it with an "h" one day, just because I felt like it and now I sign everything besides legal documents "Chahlie Bauer"
Yah Jennifer Butt and Norbert Leo Butz didn't change their names (actually norbert's name used to be Da Butz but yah) but if you still want to change your name, how about Gabriella Clark or Valerie Hunt! You could go on baby name websites for ideas, too.
Hmmm
Lori Anna Wheat, huh>
How about......
Anna Whealor
Lori Wheaton
Anne Lorins
Hey! I live by Wheaton:) Ok, just a warning, I don't like Wheaton because you never know if you should pronouce the T, Like Wheat-ton, or Wheatn.
Leann Harrison
KMF, I had the same problem, when I was younger I also hated my middle name, but now I have realized how truely unique it is! And now I go by that and my last name.
How about Julliette Sheridan? Who has the last name of Sheridan because I have no idea where I got that, it just popped into my head. Omg What I did For love is on Dateline!!
They're talking about Jessica SImpson and playing what I did for love!
Ok sorry I heard Broadway on Tv and I got excited... Cameron Madison
I have a problem because people PRONOUNCE my name wrong. Even though it's pretty common. It's Jeanie, but people say it as "Jeeyahnee", "Janine (which I can understand a bit more than Jeeyahnee)", and the list goes on. I was thinking of going by my middle name: Alexis, but too many people know me already by Jeanie. So..yeah. I tell people to call me whatever they want, but just let me know they're gonna call me that. Or else, I might not respond or something.
Anyway, what me and my friend did, we took our middle names and we added the street we live on. I guess if you lived on 5th street or something it wouldn't work, but here in the suburbs it does! So I become Alexis Windsor. Sounds so regal.
With my old and better street name(The street I live on now has a stupid name), I would be Elizabeth Nantucket. I like it!
Be happy your name isn't "Hufendick". Seriously--my English teacher's last name is "Hufendick". That's her maiden name. Then she got married to a "Bardouche". Then divorced and is "Hufendick" again. Lol. I like u'r name, it really goes together. However, good luck with your search of a stage name.
