has anyone heard of a "response" song to Taylor the Latte Boy? I need the song title, an album where i can find a recording, and the lyrics. thanks!
no, but if it exists, I'd love to hear it! I love Taylor the Latte Boy!!!
I dont know if there is a response, but if you're thinking of a guy singing it, John Tartaglia covered it.

Nope, you mean "Carol the Stalker Girl" right? Very funny stuff...

With all due respect to John Tartaglia, who does a great job, 'Taylor' was covered by a guy years before: David Gurland, who'd been doing it in his cabaret act for some time.
For what it's worth, I also know Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich, the writers of 'Taylor,' and they are not happy with the 'response' songs. (I think there might be a couple.) Understandably, they feel protective of a character they came up with, and feel like others are exploiting their creation.
I had no idea there was a response to TAYLOR out there. I'd love to hear it and know more about it
If it's the one I'm thinking of, the "most popular" of the Taylor's Response songs was written by Andrew Byrne, an arranger and pianist here in NYC.
I think Andrew's is the one I've heard - it's really very funny. It's a shame Marcy and Zina aren't fans of it (I've heard that before, as well); I don't see that it diminishes their song one bit.
It's the whole song from Taylor's point of view, where he casually says hello to the girl and she totally takes it too far and reads too much into it.
I recall that the chorus goes:
"Carol, the stalker chick
You are psycho, you are sick
Oh, Carol, the stalker chick
You scare me, you scare me, you scare me"
And she goes to hear his band play and makes everyone uncomfortable, and then shows up outside his window late at night, etc.
