HI guys! Several months ago I became a member of tdf, but have yet to purchase tickets through them. I typically like to sit close to the stage, anywhere in the orchestra is fine, partial view is fine also. However I am not a fan of sitting in the balcony or rear mezzanine. So my question is,is it more likely than not if I get tdf tickets I am going to be sitting in the balcony or rear mezzanine? I know they are highly discounted seats, however even at those costs tickets in the last row of the mezzanine for shows like Phantom are around that price. I am most likely going this Saturday and the shows I am most curious about are Phantom, Romeo and Juliet, First Date, Spiderman, and old friends. Any help is much appreciated!
TDF sometimes specify that the seats may be in the rear mezzanine or balcony. I believe it states that for First Date, but some people were placed in the orchestra, front mezz as well as rear mezz. Basically it is up to the box office. Orchestra seats are usually mid to rear, sides, but not always, I have gotten some great seats. For Phantom of the Opera I was in row B of the front mezz, but I saw it on a weeknight. Not sure if it would be the same on weekends. Spiderman I was in the center orchestra, row T. Both shows were a while ago. I did not get my tickets to R&J thru TDF but for Porgy & Bess my TDF seats were side orchestra, row P.
I've had everything from second row, center, aisle to last row of the balcony, last seat in the row against the wall. It seems that I get the best seats if I go by myself, on werknights, but even that is no guarantee. They sat me in a nosebleed seat at house of Blue Leaves when the theatre was half empty.
I saw Phantom with TDF tickets in june- had 5th to last row in Orchestra. Would have rather had mezzanine seats as I couldn't see the chandelier for most of its ascent or descent.
I saw First Date via TDF tickets on the day of the flea market and was in the last row of the mezzanine. Many people moved up though as the front of the mezzanine, on both sides, was empty.

Last year, I got a ticket for Anything Goes through TDF and it was mid-orchestra house left. Great seat, even better deal. So glad I had that membership.
Been a TDF member for years, seats are anywhere from first row Orchestra to last row Balcony, depending on the quantity, show and time of year. Recently saw Night with Janis Joplin with TDF seats, 2 seats on 2nd row of mezzanine. If you care greatly where you sit, TDF may not be for you, but for the price, it's almost always a bargain.
I see almost everything TDF puts up -- at least 85% were orchestra seats. I've only ever sat in the rear mezz once. I usually go alone during the week if that helps.
