One of my favorite singers/actresses Bethany Joy Galeotti is teaming up with music producer Ron Aniello to make the movie "the notebook" into a musical. They are having auditions early august to workshop it in Wilmington, NC (where Galeotti shoots 'One Tree Hill') Here is an article about it http://www.starnewsonline.com/article/20090721/ARTICLES/907219960?Title=-One-Tree-Hill-actress-Bethany-Joy-Galeotti-talks-about-adapting-Notebook-into-a-musical
and here is the musical site : http://www.thenotebookmusical.com/
just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this? think it will make it??
I like romantic stories, but I didn't care for the movie. It was boring and predictable. Hopefully a musicalized version could be more interesting.

The book is good...movie is good...Broadway show? Not so much. This is not a good idea. I would LOVE for someone to actually come up with an original idea for a show and not use someone else's...

I also hope the musical version will be more interesting than the movie. I do prefer musicals to come up with original new ideas but i do like a lot of musicals that weren't also so we will see. Hopefully she wrote good music, i like her personal music but we'll see how she does with broadway!

Is it common for producers to not pay anything to the actors performing for readings? Seems like it's a long way from Broadway...
I love One Tree Hill and Bethany Joy...her character is music-obsessed too.
'The Notebook' was a nice enough film...I could imagine girls dragging their boyfriends to this (with added hankies).
