does anyone know anything about "the drowsy chaperone"-- i'm deciding on which show to see for my birthday, and this one appealed to me. has anyone seen it and can give feedback? or even if you havent seen it? is it worth a birthday visit? any info would be great!

hear my song; it was made for the time when you don't know where to go, listen to the song that i sing, you'll be fine..

I seem to be in the minority as far as the show is concerned. I enjoyed Bob Martin and Beeth Leavel. at best. however, each cast member clearly gave their all, and for that cannot be faulted. I didn't find it as funny as I had read, but it was the score which bothered me most. I found generic, and bothersome.I found myself disappointed each time another song would start up.As another reviewer stated, I wanted more Bob Martin, and less Drowsy Chaperone.

i feel like this may be a dumb post, but--
i was also considering avenue q for my birthday as well.
does anyone have any suggestions..
i'm a mature high school student who LOVED dirty rotten scoundrels, wicked, rent, DOUBT, aida, mamma mia, the light in the piazza.
i like to laugh and if you have a suggestion, a musical please.
so please help!

Ummm let's see. You did the "fun" shows for the most part, so I think you should like TDC.

Also, check out Sweeney Todd and Threepenny for drama.

i'm thinking i may make my previous response a separate thread, curious to see what the posters have as far as suggestions go for me.
thanks again!

Have you heard the music to Avenue Q? I've never seen the show but love the cast recording and everyone I know who has seen it loved it. It is a little raunchy but if I were you I would go for Drowsy.
