Heh, you saw it tonight too?
My friends and I were a little upset that Nathan didn't come out the stage door, but ah, what are ya gonna do. It's alright. 'least Roger Bart came out...it was a joy chatting with him.

Posted: 9/5/04 at 10:40amGee, the guy was seriously injured a few days ago. Be glad he was even in the show. You were lucky to have had the pleasure of seeing him perform. Let him go home and tend to taking care of healing his injuries. He's got to be hurting and you expect him to hang around the stage door to sign Playbills AND be cheery?

CaTheaterGirl, thank you. I saw "The Frogs" last night and was amazed at Nathan's vigor and strength after sustaining what castmates called "extremely painful injuries". During the title number, when he is literally dragged around the stage by his legs, he screamed a few times, and it was obvious it wasn't his usual stage scream, but real pain.
So you didn't get to see him off-stage and get his signature on a piece of paper. Cope. You got to see one of the greatest stage performers of our time, when a lesser person would have bowed out from the pain.

Posted: 9/5/04 at 12:58pmVery true, HeartinNYC. The last I heard, the price of a ticket does NOT include a meet and greet session at the stage door. Nathan has to be hurting and, no doubt, any other actor would have taken the rest of the week off to recover. He's obviously one dedicated guy. I hope a few days off now will give him time to recover by Tuesday night's show. More power to ya, Nathan! Heal! Updated On: 9/5/04 at 12:58 PM

Gee, I thought getting an autograph afterwards was the whole reason you go to the theater!

DJTifa, as others have said here, Lane was seriously injured this week and most were surprised that he stayed out only for Act II of the Wed matinee and the evening performance and was back in the saddle on Thursday.
Given his condition, I would think that it would have been unreasonable to expect him to come out and sign for fans.

Oh, jeez, I think you all took my message the completely wrong way. I know about Nathan's injury, and I was worried for him... Sure, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see him at the stage door, but I wasn't like OH NOES HE'S MEAN. I understood why he left another way. I don't have anything against him for it... No need to jump down my throat ^_^;
