Mel Brooks sings a song at the begining of the Producers cast recording DVD.

Is it a real song and if so, what it the name of it.

one of the lines goes..

"...and French oo la la, can't compare with that German om-pahpah!"

I haven't seen the DVD, but it sounds like "Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band." That's a song from the show that Franz sings.

I havent seen the DVD that you speak of but, it could be "Have you seen the german band?" aka "Haben Sie Gehort Das Deutsche Band?" one of the many wonderful songs from The Producers

need to defrag my brain.

its Haben Sie Gehort... song 12 on the CD. wonderfully sung by Brad Oscar (who should of been featured more on the DVD!!)

I have a DVD question. Where would I find if if I went to Best Buy? According to their website, they have it in stock, but it is not in Music DVDs nor Comedy. Anyone buy it from there and care to comment?

yeah i did --- just ask someone cuz when i went to buy it ... it was in the musicals section ... the 2nd time i saw it in the comedy section.
