I was one of the vey, very lucky ones to get tickets to today's closing show. From the minute the lights went down it was a magical night. To add to the ejection of those who did not turn of their cell it was hilarious as they announced that the role of Peter Allen would be played by Donald Trump. The audience was ready to give Hugh Jackman a huge NY sendoff. He could not finish a song without a standing ovation. Isabel, Beth and Stephanie were fabulous, as was the whole cast. Hugh made it extra special by getting Barbara Walters on stage and Matt Damon giving her a lap dance with Hugh. There wasn't a dry eye as Hugh sang for the last time "It's so hard to say goodby". Yes it is for he is NY treasure. I was delighted to see his lovely wife in the audience. All of us who have seen the show over and over are now going through "Hugh Jackman Withdrawal". There will never be a performance to match this one ever!!! We love you Hugh and can't wait for your next project.
