Brooklyn fans always say, people just don't like it because it's different, new, and are opposed to change. That is completely stupid to say - people are ALWAYS looking for something different and new. But different doesn't mean good - especially in this case. Believe me, I'm always hoping that something new, striking, and different comes along, as I'm sure any theatre fan is. However with BROOKLYN, you're very mistaken. People don't not like it because it's new - people don't like it because it's one of the worst pieces of garbage (no pun intended) to open on the Broadway stage in years.

Oh yes I figured that one...I have read most of the Brooklyn messages.

You figured what? That there's a difference between new a good?
Not saying you don't have a right to like it, but what were you trying to say?

Exactly...COC was the exact opposite - a new, brilliant show that people just didn't have the brains for. It's sad.

Brooklyn is a so-so show. I think the plot tries too hard to be dramatic that it kind of borders on cheesy at certain points. I do have to say that the singers are great. Eden Espinosa made the night somewhat salvageable for me.

It's me. I'm just really happy that he joined up to share his review of this show. Geez, it's been over a month since someone's done that.
I fully expect to receive my threatening PM any minute now. (Oh, and Moondrops should show up soon like she always does when I call out a BKLYN shill)

If you like something that most other people don't like, they try to diminish your opinion by stating (as if it were a fact and not their own personal opinion) how truly horrible the show was and implying that you lack sufficient judgement or intelligence to recognize your error. Maybe I'm guilty of that too, sometime. "How could you possibly like that piece of trash!!!" But the more I post and read posts here, the more I realize how subjective opionions are. I wish everyone would preface their posts by saying "I think..." or "I believe..." rather than posting their opinions as facts. Nothing is going to change because of this post, but I wanted to say that I'm glad you liked Brooklyn (haven't seen it so I have no opinion myself) and glad you posted your impressions here. Nothing to feel ashamed about, even if you seem to be in the minority. Hey, I LOVED Marcie X (the movie) and am not ashamed to say so!!!

Brookyln is great for what it is... a fun, exciting show, fun catchy music, great performers... i was actually very inspired by the performances of Eden and Cleavant... they sang like they were truly living their dreams up there

This is nonsense. Why do you guys waste time reading posts about how someone enjoyed Brooklyn if you didn't like it? Wait this part I love - How many people reading this actuly saw Bklyn? I bet the people bashing it are the ones that read other peoples reviews or just make up their own and say it "sucks"...I LOVED Brooklyn! If you guys don't like a show, it's ridiculous to bash the people that did enjoy it. Everyone has their own opinions. If a thread is started for the happiness of a show, then why start in and go "BKLYN was horrible blah blah blah"...some people make no sense these days...

I didn't bash anyone for liking BROOKLYN at all. Please find where I did and let me know, although I have a feeling I won't hear back from you.

I don't mean to start a fight. I just feel it's ridiculous how people come to threads how people are happy with a show and someone comes and says "Bklyn is garbage"
