I know it was posted here before but I can't find it now. Is the Hilton Theatre one of those who are not affected by the strike??

Not affected:
Hilton Theatre (owned by Clear Channel)
American Airlines Theatre (Roundabout)
Studio 54 (Roundabout)
Vivian Beaumont Theatre (owned by LCT)
Biltmore Theatre (owned by MTC)
Circle in the Square Theatre (independent)
New Amsterdam Theatre (leased by Disney)
Helen Hayes (independent)
Affected:
-- Shubert Theaters (Ambassador Theatre · Ethel Barrymore Theatre · Belasco Theatre · Booth Theatre · Broadhurst Theatre · Broadway Theatre · Cort Theatre · John Golden Theatre · Imperial Theatre · Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre · Longacre Theatre · Lyceum Theatre · Majestic Theatre · Music Box Theatre · Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre · Shubert Theatre · Winter Garden Theatre)
-- Jujamcyn Theaters (Al Hirschfeld Theatre · Walter Kerr Theatre · Eugene O'Neill Theatre · St. James Theatre · August Wilson Theatre)
And according to the Times:
"The Nederlander organization, which owns nine theaters and has a separate contract with the stagehands, will not be imposing work rules, and the union said a strike against the Nederlanders would be highly unlikely. But on Friday, a Nederlander official sent a letter to the union saying that the Nederlander theaters would lock the stagehands out if the union went on strike against other Broadway theaters."
So, if the Nederlanders lock out he union, the following theaters would also be closed:
Brooks Atkinson Theatre · George Gershwin Theatre · Lunt-Fontanne Theatre · Marquis Theatre · Minskoff Theatre · Nederlander Theatre · Neil Simon Theatre · Palace Theatre · Richard Rodgers Theatre

Thanks for yours, being jeremiah. I was just about to type out the shows that would still be open, but thankfully you beat me to it.
I hope the rumors this morning that the strike will happen this week, rather than the first week of December, are true... Let's get it over with, pls.
We have RoundAbout tickets for "The Ritz" on Dec. 1st, would like to catch a couple of more shows. For everyone's good I hope this gets resolved very soon.

I thought Disney owned the New Amsterdam, who are they leasing it from?

The State and City of New York actually own the New Amsterdam. Disney signed a 99 year lease for the theater back in 1993.
Margo, I'm sure this gets said often, but you are an absolute fountain of knowledge, and I, for one, love to read your posts.
That having been said, instead of going to Florida for vacation I bought tickets to two Broadway shows. I pray this does not come to fruition and they are able to work the contract issues out, as unlikely as it seems right now.

I hope they can work something out too. This promised to be the most exciting season in ages for new plays on Broadway with AUGUST:OSAGE COUNTY, THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION, THE SEAFARER, ROCK 'N ROLL, IS HE DEAD? and Mamet's NOVEMBER all scheduled to open in the next two months or so. A strike/lockout/work stoppage of any kind could potentially threaten the viability of those shows are well as several long running shows that would have trouble surviving if they had to shut down for more than a couple of weeks (some might not be able to re-open once a settlement is reached). A long term work stoppage would threaten the entire industry -- as well as restaurants, hotels and retail stores -- and the thousands of people that work in it.
Let's hope things can be settled soon with a minimum of damage to everyone involved.
