Just wondering if anybody here ever auditioned with them & how crowded their open calls are? If sign up is at 9am, is 8 early enough(or too early) to get there? Thxs.

8 am is definitely too late. I would get there no later than 6 am - earlier if you can do it! These auditions are always packed! Good luck!

THanks! I usually do get there around 6am for regular EPA's, but just wasn't sure since this is Theatreworks USA tour TYA contract(hence, not much $$) so thought it might not be as crowded. I would rather get there too early, than too late so I'll stick to my usual crack of dawn schedule. :)

They've been casting a lot recently. I don't think it will bee too bad. 8am doesn't seem too bad to me.

Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

*spit takes*

Are you kidding? For an open call, and the upcoming Theatreworks auditions are open, some people start lining up as early as 4 a.m., and a lot of people sign up about ten friends in addition to themselves, so I'd get there as early as you possibly can.

Just wanted to reinforce what everyone's been saying here. Those TheatreWorks open calls are full of the craziest people you're likely to meet on the audition circuit right out of college, and that's saying a lot.

It's definitely worth giving it a try though. I'd say around 6 AM. My dignity demands not to arrive any sooner.

And don't forget about ArtsPower, they're great to work with too.

Thanks everyone for the responses. It sounds like there is usually a big turnout for Theatreworks so I will definitely get there early.

Wanted to follow up on this so it may be of help to anybody doing a search in the future. It wasn't too crazy crowded this time, but I'm pretty sure this was the 3rd open call since Aug so that could be why. There were about 50 people on the list by 7:30am & eventually over 100(145 maybe?) on the list. Sometime around 9 or 9:30 they said they would be seeing 90 people total. I wasn't watching the list so don't know around what time they hit the 90 mark. I guess the best thing is to always go early cause you just never know how crowded it will be, but if you know they've already held several open calls within the past few months, I'd say getting there around 7am is safe.

Btw, they didn't seem to be giving any callbacks on the spot so does anybody know how long it typically takes if you're going to hear back from them?
