Hmmm was Superbia ever recorded? Or is there a libretto online that I could read? Just wondering... I know it wasn't all that successful but I am still interested in learning more about it

The only thing I know about it, was that it was set in the future and "Come to your senses" was from it. Gorgeous song.

I think one of the best things about TTB is the dialogue you don't get on the CD. Like the whole Chubstitute scene. It's hilarious. Not to mention the explanation of the title, as well as the story behind the song Sugar. I think for anyone unsure about it, seeing it is a must.

I know. For a while, I thought "Sugar" was about a prostitute who just happend to like Twinkies

Okay! I was supposed to see TTB twice last year in Florida, but never made it (Long story short: I was in a really, really bad horseback riding accident the morning of the day I was supposed to go.). ANYWAY! This might be a really dumb question to ask, and don't jump on mt for not knowing because I don't REALLY know a lot about theater history, and rarely can pick out lyrics and thing slike that done by the same person (I suppose if I LOOKED at the CD things, I couold, but.). ANYWAY. Anyone notice that 'An Oridinary Sunday' from A Sunday n the Park with George and 'Sunday' from TTB sound a lot a like?

I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints.

Up In Won, Yes, Jonathan was a great admirer of Sondheim, and that's why Sunday sounds just like Sunday In The Park w/ Geroge =)

By the way, since I haven't seen the show, I thought "Sugar" was about a prostitute too LOL but, is the song really about actual sugar, like in twinkies?? That is so randomly wonderful =)

Up In Won, you're right, the song 'Sunday' is an homage to Sondheim -- it stayed close to the melody and even the lyrics of the SITPWG song, and at least in the original TTB production (I assume they kept it on tour as well?), the staging also mimicked the original staging of the song in SITPWG. (In SITPWG, the character George was arranging the subjects of his painting, moving a hand here, taking away glasses there, etc., and in TTB Jon was doing similar things to the people at the cafe -- it was hilarious).
