It might be slightly easier to get tickets on days where there are two shows, depending on your flexibility to see either a matinee or evening show. Are you planning on rushing before the new year? It is slightly busier during this time of year. I've heard of people getting to the box office as early as 6 am for Spring Awakening rush. When I went this time of year a couple of years ago, it was much busier and lines were longer. I couldn't get rush tickets, but I also went to the box offices after 10 am.

wannabeafoster..beware of being a pain in my but by saying things like that.."beware of double or triple posting" no one cares..there are just way too many threads to search for a specific one..and don't respond with a nasty, stuck up comment

I am going the last week of Feb. What do you think?
(P.S. I am the only one who finds the search function on the site horrible and impossible to use?!)

I went on the 9th, only a week before Johnny G's last night. The box office opened at 12, and I got there at 11:51.

I got 2 front row seats for $26 each.

Good luck!

I like Sundays the best because there are 2 performances (except this coming Sunday), and the box office doesn't open til 12, so you can get there later. I rushed the show yesterday and got there way early for no reason. There was barely anyone there by 9am, and the box office opened at 10. Usually, I get there 2 and a half to 3 hours in advance, and I get pretty amazing seats.

Oh, and a tip: sit in orchestra right if you can get orchestra seats. If you sit on the left, your view of a couple scenes/jokes is blocked.

Get there the night before and set up a tent and a portable heater right in front of the theatre doors. Guarenteed to get rush (unless you're arrested or taken to a near by shelter)

i completely agree with you, the search thing totally sucks for someone new to the site, its not really even that easy to find. unfortunately, some people have not been involved with this site since 2005 like those people that completely flip out whenever a thread is posted that has "already been discussed," and thus don't know about threads that were discussed 8 months ago. The fact that somebody was so upset that they took a picture of the search screen and circled it and drew arrows to drive their point in is laughable; i feel like if someone doesn't want to read a thread that's already been discussed than they should just not read it.

I agree, too. If you are looking at the message boards and see one that has a title of something that has probably been previously discussed on here...DON'T LOOK AT IT!

It is just as easy for you to NOT look at it as it probably is for someone to use the search engine. Although, I have always thought the same about the BWW search engine. Kind of awkward to work at times.

I agree with the rest of the board...Sunday would be your best day to try rush. With two shows you'll have a much better chance at getting tickets and you'll get to sleep in a little since the box office doesn't open until noon.

And...I sat house left the last time I saw the show and I don't think I missed any of the jokes/scenes. Just Jonathan Groff's...you know!

G'luck, aces, and enjoy the show!

"Kind of awkward to work."

I typed in "spring awakening rush" and had no problem finding a bunch of other threads.

I agree though - there are so many other links on this page that it is pretty easy to overlook. I even had trouble finding it once.

How about Mondays? I'll be there in February to see APPLAUSE and was thinking of rushing SPRING AWAKENING for the Monday performance (unless I can find a way to get in the CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF dress rehearsal).

SPRING AWAKENING doesn't have Monday night shows anymore.

My only advice would be to not be bothered by the first people in line who, from my experience, are bound to be annoying teenyboppers doing creepy things like making birthday cards for performers (strike that, swings) in a completely different show.

I'm not sure about the weekend, but if you go during the week in February, you could probably be safe getting there about an hour before the box office opens.
