One of my can't miss upbeats is 'Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat' from G&D
I don't know if the sheet music for THE BOY FROM OZ is out yet, but I really want to use 'When I Get My Name in Lights' for auditions

Also, for classic musical auditions, I do 'All i Need is the Girl' and a jazzy 'Almost Like Being in Love'
But only do 'Girl' if you can really sing it and act it. They've heard enough crappy rendetions of that song to last a lifetime.

"Purpose" is a great song for a tenor that's up tempo.
You might also try "We Beseech Thee" from "Godspell," or "Oh What a Circus," from Evita.

If you're a bit hoarse after singing it, than it is not a good sign.
You could be doing some permanent vocal damage.

"What Do I Need With Love"
It's one of my favorite sing along songs, very up tempo and humorous as well, and it ends with a good strong, high pitched belt.

Posted: 10/27/04 at 1:20pmIm a tenor and for my College auditions im using "Go Home With Bonnie Jean" from brigadoon for my uptempo. you can really have alot of fun and show of some comedic stuff with it. plus its got some great high fs that get repeated alot and sound great. good luck
