Can I just say how much I LOVE this show, Matt Bogart, BJ Crosy, DeLee Lively, Brenda Braxton, Deb Lyons, Ken Ard, and Fred Owens??

Me too! I think some "Jukebox" shows are great and this is one of them. We just had a tour of Chicago come through with Brenda Braxton as Velma. She was hot!

BJ's "Take My Hand" in Act Two was an emotional show stopper, Brenda Braxton's "Don Juan" was PHENOM!

I too enjoy that video. To see BJ sing "...Brand New Fool" for the final time was so moving. She says "honey, I barely made it through that".


I had the "honor" of seeing her cabaret act in Philly a few months ago and was invited back for a down home interview. She is a charming southern gal from New Orleans, who claims she cooks better than Emeril, and a delightful person.

Regarding Matt Bogart and Smokey Joe's, during my interview with him he joked " in case people didn't know me, I just say I was the white boy who really didn't dance but just got up there and wiggled and jiggled a lot". Matt seems like a very easy going and nice, boy next door kinda guy.

But it's a cool show and I always try to catch a good regional production from time to time. Cheers!
