"At the opening night party, they had clowns on stilts, jugglers, a chocolate fountain, popcorn, hot dogs. [My son] looked at me like I had been holding back. Like, 'This is what you do?' I had to tell him, 'No, no, darling. Opening nights don't usually look like this.' It's usually a dark bar with a bottle of vodka." ?Chitty Chitty Bang Bang's Jan Maxwell plus i proudly share the title of the shortest member over the age of 10 with wickedrentq!

If I had to choose for myself, I'd try SPELLING BEE. I've heard only good things about it, as opposed to the other two.

Piazza's a limited engagement, too. Spelling Bee's not going anyplace for a bit, I'd suspect.

re: what show...

I'd say Piazza too... mainly because it is a limited engagement. But spelling bee is terrific as well.

and zippy, that picture just gave me this terrible craving for some B&J ice cream!

re: what show...

hey wickedfan.

Yeah I was very dissapointed with Kathleen turner. While she did 75% of the show amazing, the second act was really a let down. I did not think she had the depth to portray her anger. So during the third act was like oh she's sad now... but the discrepency between her in act 2 and 3 was not as clear as I would have liked. I enjoyed the production but was highly disapointed with her range as an actress.

re: what show...

I would say Piazza only cause the cast and the whole thing looks AMAZING. Like a Merchen Ivory Film come to life.

re: what show...

umgeoboy- I understand where you're coming from completely. Because Kathleen Turner wasn't in Act 2 until halfway through, it became hard for me to really dislike or love her-all of my attention was on Bill Irwin or Mireille Enos. But in Act 1 and 3 I thought she was brilliant, I never really counted Act 2 though.
