Shouldn't Namo have been one of the Three Queens?
I think the first part I ever played was Carmen in my own adaptation of Carmen, circa age five. When I was a kid, I'd write (very brief) adaptations of operas and coerce the other kids on my street to perform in them. I think I was the bitchiest kid on the block. At one point, after I had chased my arch-nemesis, Ray Rossi, around his backyard, insisting he play the bull, my mother considered revoking my opera privileges for a while. Several of the neighbourhood parents suggested my mother seek therapy for me. Nothing is as dangerous as a five year old with a vision.

God, Miriam, every time I read one of your posts I can't help but envy you a little. Debuting at the Old Met; going from Pal Joey to My Sister Eileen.... I think we really need to get a thread going where Miriam can just tell us stories.
In third grade I was the lead in a play called "Randy the Red-Horned Rainmoose," but the first real play I did was "The Man Who Came to Dinner" in eighth grade (I was Maggie). First musical was "Anything Goes" my sophomore year of high school. And I don't even want to think about how many shows I've done since then...
My first show was "Naked Boys Singing"
First show? Geez...
Uh, I played the Easter Bunny that couldn't hop because his tail was too long in some Easter skit. Madame Hoppy-Skip came and trimmed my tail, and thereafter I was free to bring Easter joy and eggs to good boys and girls everywhere. I reached deep for that role. It was loaded with subtext.
