who is it?

From the NY Post this a.m.:

WHAT Broadway producer has been bad-mouthing his just departed leading lady? The impresario, who didn't like her onstage or off, is touting her replacement as a big improvement

re: who is it?

I'd wager a guess it's Chenoweth

re: who is it?

Pretty safe guess. So are we talking David Stone?

Whoever it is, it's not terribly professional now, is it?

re: who is it?

Yes Deena - that's where I got the pic from - Jon sent it to whomever asked. And thanks!

re: who is it?

That's correct, Popculture. Add to it the fact that people on Broadway and in the community have nothing bad to say about Chenoweth at all - she's very "popular" as a person - and he's not winning himself any fans.

re: who is it?

I just had a look at the other shows playing and none were immediately obvious as having lost a leading lady recently, so I guess she's popular with everyone except the producers of Wicked. So not a smart move on their part to let people know what they really think.

re: who is it?

Read it again - it's just ONE of the producers talking smack. We're playing guess which one.

Here is the list of producers:
Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, the Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.

re: who is it?

I'd agree with Stone. Platt championed her from the beginning. but who knows. Not smart, but not like she's going back to the show anytime soon.

there was a blind item about Chenoweth once before, how she was telling anyone who would listen that she was on the short list for Roxie in the film version of Chicago...well in her interview on her website, she addresses it.

2 blind items for someone so well loved....

Stone's always been more lucky than smart.

I thought I heard whispers of her returning to the show "over the holidays". Or did I make that up?

re: who is it?

I think it was alluded to by Chenoweth a few months ago, but she has since been quoted as saying her schedule is to hectic.
#14

re: who is it?

If that's true, popculture, then that only adds to the inadvisability of the statements made by whichever producer is making them.

re: who is it?

Couldn't it just as well be Kerry Butler departing from LSOH?

#16

re: who is it?

Since the item says "just departed," I think it's much more likely Chenoweth than Butler.

*Foams at the mouth and gets out pitchfork* He better not be talking about Cheno!!!

No, just kidding. That is very unprofessional.
What is Broadway? A street? Some say it's a street. Some say it is the best street in the world. Others think its terrible. That's the beauty of it, it's terribly beautiful. Some hate it and don't know why. Others love it and don't know why. That's what makes it so wonderful, it's a mystery.

Some things (people) never change. I worked with him at both our first New York production office jobs. That's all I'll say.

heard in passing at a bar just after the tonys (no i don't know who they were so it could mean absolutely nothing but hey who loves unsourced gossip more than us?):

person #1: well, of course wicked didn't win, people hate him more than cancer.

person #2: schwartz?

person #1: no, stone.
