I actually found a link to Kristin's website in one of the posts on here. It was a post that included some numbers from the show on Sunday and it got me thinking about some other numbers. Again, the first few came from a post by a member of Kristin's site (I think the member's name is 4good? I just want to give credit and not come across like I am taking credit for these..
Anyway, some number from the show on Sunday:
"1090 - lottery entrants for 7/18
500 - lottery entrants for 7/17
6 - number of standing ovations
10 - things that Kristin read from a book on how to be popular
6 - number of cancellation tickets sold up to 3:00pm on 7/18
3(am) - the time the first people arrived to stand in the cancellation line
300 - price for scalped tickets"
anyone care to add any to that list?
for example, how many people attended the show (i.e how many people does the gerswhin seat?)
or many how long it took kristin to come out after the show (if she even did? i didn't stick around)?

Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:16amI haven't seen the show, so what is this about Kristen reading 10 things from a book? Does it usually happen?

Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:20amAw.... and I missed it. What was on the list? I've seen things, but the lists have been incomplete!

Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:21amI can add something for you my friends. i really wanted to get into the Gershwin on Sunday night - so I hopped onto a bid on Ebay. I entered bidding on a pair of Orchestra seats that were separated by the main aisle - original bid $355 - they sold for $780.

Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:22amIsn't it against the law for scalped tix to be sold over the purchase price?
re: 'wicked numbers'#6
Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:23amdon't know for sure about the legality - I recieved an e-mail telling me how much money other people could spend on those 2 tickets!
re: 'wicked numbers'#7
Posted: 7/20/04 at 2:57amThats way too much. It isn't THAT worth it!
re: 'wicked numbers'#8
Posted: 7/20/04 at 8:25amYeah, that is quite excessive. I tend to think that on a normal night orchestra prices are too expensive (although, if I had the opportunity to be in NYC, I would've paid the $100 to see Kristin's last performance).

10 ways to be popular...
I swear to GOD she only read 8...
shower every day, maybe some of that green will come off...
deodorant Elphie, no one likes a stinky witch!
hair, we'll get to that...
clean underclothes Elphie, that's ALL I'm gonna say...
look at your posture, that's no way to be popular!
bed made, room straight, we've done that...
color coordinate... (long pause) huge response
and the most important thing to do to be popular is to keep your beautiful smile... (Idina and kristin both started crying and there was a collective awwwww from the audience)
That part was sad but not as bad as "stay with me I'm really gonna miss you, oz will never be the same without you"
:'( tear
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH! 8/21/05

Each state has their own laws regarding the reselling of tickets. Here is Ebay's ticket policy:
Buying and reselling event tickets on eBay is 100% legal. However, some states impose limitations on resale prices for resold tickets to events located in their states. In such states, these regulations apply only to buyers and sellers located in the same state as the actual event.
NY has such restrictions, so if you live in the NY area you can't buy or sell much over face value if it's a NY venue - there are restrictions. However, if you live out of the state you can buy/sell a ticket for a NY event for as much as the ticket goes for, etc....

WOW. Orchestra seats at $100 each are crazy enough....I was lucky enough to have my boyfriend buy them for me for a graduation gift (for 7/16). When I went in April they were discounted (ha) at $75 each.

Posted: 7/20/04 at 3:38pmmust we complain about ticket prices. Yes they're high however its to pay for everything going on. Think about it i'm sure the leads don't come cheap not to mention the rest of the cast, special effects, crew ppl etc. etc. its costs alot to keep a show running
re: 'wicked numbers'#15
Posted: 7/20/04 at 4:48pmWe all know that here, but we're poor! Well, some of us anyway. I just finished college, and while I had a job last year, it was temporary b/c they don't hire teachers in the middle of the year, so I don't even know for sure that I will have one in the fall.

oh of course it does! I know theres a reason for the high prices....but it still stinks to have to fork over $100 a seat when you're a college freshman who's just a really big fan! :) I'd go over and over if it wasn't for the high prices.....yay for discounts!
