Diana is a soprano?
I thought she was a belter because she does Penny in Hairspray.

Ali Ewoldt, so far she is getting great reviews as Cosette in the Les Mis revival(like I knew she would because I liked her when I last saw the tour).

She also played Maria in WSS.

Doesn't mean she could hit the notes. Lesser "observed" productions usually drop down notes an octave if not in the singer's range.
RuprechtJr. is right. I cannot count how many shows I have seen that change the score to fit the voice of the actor. Even if it's with a well known person. They would then do that depending on how much attention the show was getting. Saying that Diana did Maria in west side, doesn't mean that she is a soprano. They could of changed the score.
I KNOW this was just said by the way.
