if you do Little Shop and want to rent a set of Audrey II's, start looking ASAP. They can be pretty expensive (up to a couple thousand dollars to rent) and can be in high demand.
Reefer Madness was on the tip of my tongue when I saw the title of this thread.
Add Bat Boy, Opposite of Sex, Debbie Does Dallas, and Metropolis. And of course cannot forget Carrie.

Yeah, I like Lucky Stiff too.
But my tip is... Virgins - A Musical Threesome.
Keep an eye out for it during the September NY Musical Theater Festival.
BRILLIANT

I can't believe I have yet to see MENOPAUSE mentioned! It's a perfect small-cast show!
Crabtree's "When Pig's Fly" and "Whoop-dee-doo!". I think Samuel French handles them both. Both fun and silly, with lots of freedom! ...but not for everyone!
I second the vote for "Personals". It's a fun show with a cast of 6, and can be done on basically no budget.
a new brain is PERFECT! ahhhh i love it it's amazing

I like two better-known musicals, Urinetown and Assassins.
I second Zanna, Don't! It's a fun show.
Bump!
PROMENADE
But you need terrific legit voices.
i'm gonna second a lot of stuff that's already been put -
urinetown, hedwig, rocky horror, personals, lucky stiff, new brain
how about nunsense? i don't know it well but it looks fun
also threepenny opera
you can't get the rights to taboo yet, can u?
not sure how quirky and underground u can really call some of these tho, and i don't know a lot of the other things
like - i adore assassins, but its not really the same genre as batboy.mind u, neither's threepenny opera
