give victoria clark a tony right now!
more about her later. I found this show to have some flaws (what doesn't?) but overall i thought it was very good. When i first walked into the theater, i found the set kind of unflaterring. i don't know much about set design but it seemed that the stage was hard to work with. However once the show began, the set became beautiful and worked wonderfully. The show itself was beautiful. While at times slow, i found the plot to be entertaining, a nice love story with an added bonus of a mother-daughter relationship. The actors were excellent. Victoria Clark especially. She deserves a tony. She was funny but not in the sense of look at me i am being funny now laugh but a subtle humor. Her emotions, she could go from anger to happiness in seconds. Just an amazing performance. Kelli O'hara was good. I didn't think she was anything special but her voice is gorgeous. Matthew Morrison i found very entertaining and he played the role of a man in love almost perfectlly. Mark Harelik was great as was the rest of the cast. The costumes were perfect for the time and setting of the show. I can't tell you anything about lighting sorry. So overall a great show and i suggest that you see it during it's run. I also was to commend the audience for being very respectfull. i didn't hear anyone talk, noone's phone went off and it was great!
