Cleverest Lyrics? Feb 1
2010, 04:31:55 PM
What do you think is the cleverest Broadway lyric? I'm thinking best use of rhyme, but anything witty, really. The first thing that comes to mind to me is, "When a person's personality is personable, He should not sit like a lump. It's harder than a matador coercin' a bull To try to get you off of your rump." Oh, and everything from "A Little Priest."

Don't Tell Mama from Cabaret. Definitely.

Definitely Audra's. For guys...John Raitt's sounds pretty good. I wouldn't be too upset with Mandy Patinkin's either, though they're obviously very different.

^^^ I like it when Raul's alive as well. It's great, isn't it? Seriously, Raul's Being Alive is wonderful. Right now Til We Reach That Day and Sarah Brown Eyes from Ragtime have been getting to me. Also: A Light in the Dark-Next to Normal I Miss the Mountains- Next to Normal The Next Ten Minutes- The Last Five Years If I Didn't Believe in You- The Last Five Years Nobody Needs To Know- The Last Five Years Goodbye Until Tomorrow/ I Could Never Rescue
