I was just listening to Laura Benanti's Unusual Way, and I was so moved I got chills. What songs do that to you? Please list song and performer...I'm sure much of it depends on the person singing. Thanks.
Good choice!
I'll play:
"Ain't Got No Tears Left" cut from ON THE TOWN, Lenny at his best!
Donna Murphy's version on LEONARD BERNSTEIN'S NEW YORK and Cleo Laine's in ON THE TOWN: IN CONCERT are my two personal favorites.

SOOO MANY.
The first two that come to mind are "Finishing the Hat" from Sunday in the Park With George (especially when performed by Michael Cerveris), and "Make Our Garden Grow" from Candide. "Journey On" from Ragtime and a good rendition of "One Day More" from Les Mis usually do, too.
Every time I listen to Till We Reach That Day, Wheels of A Dream, or Back to Before from Ragtime, I get insane chills.
Yeah, I'll add those three to "Journey On," hahaha. "Back to Before" is my favorite song for a female singer EVER.
Bernadette Peters- "Being Alive" (Live)
Lea Salonga- "This Is The Hour"-Miss Saigon
Christine Ebersole-"Around The World"-Grey Gardens
Linda Eder-"Man of LaMancha"

^^^ I like it when Raul's alive as well. It's great, isn't it?
Seriously, Raul's Being Alive is wonderful. Right now Til We Reach That Day and Sarah Brown Eyes from Ragtime have been getting to me.

I get insane chills during the Phantom Of The Opera overture. Where's The Girl (especially with Rex Smith singing) from Scarlet Pimpernel also makes a few hairs stand up on my back. However, Back To Before from Ragtime, doesn't just gives me chills; it usually turns me to ice.

"The Fall" -- Rent
?????
What? I've never heard of it.
^ I *think* the poster might have meant to say "Goodbye Love" because of the "I hate the fall" bit, but that's just a guess. But yeah, there's not a song in the show that's actually called "The Fall."
Or perhaps they meant "Halloween?" Halloween happens in the fall! lol
Love Can't Happen- Grand Hotel.
Both Brent Barrett and David Carroll give absolutely breathtaking performances of that song.
"Move on"
"We Do Not Belong Together"
"Finishing the Hat"
"Sunday"
"Being Alive"- when sung by Patti LuPone or Bernadette Peters
"Losing My Mind"
"How Could I Ever Know?"
"The Miller's Son"
