I couldn't disagree more. I've loved the song since the original by Murray Head

If I had to choose, I would book a performance without Tveit; IMO, he's the weakest link. I'd like to know if someone else could salvage "One Night In Bangkok".

I have no actual experience with the specific seat in question, but I can't imagine your view will be obstructed. However, it may be fairly skewed because

But I can't explain the fact that the audition notice seems to suggest a straight play.

We saw the 7:00 p.m. performance on 11/22/25. I thought the first 55 minutes to be a bit of a slog, but the second half was, as many have stated, "riveting". Manville and Strong deserve Tony awards.

CHESS (2025 Broadway Revival) Reviews Nov 25

We attended the 3:00 p.m. performance on 11/23/25, and I feel this production is about a four out of five stars. My random thoughts (YMMV):
His sloppy accent notwithstanding, Nicholas Christopher is the reason to buy a ticket. I completely lost it during "Anthem". I need a musical in which this man stars alongside Jordan Donica (I don't know what musical that would be, but I need it).
I found Lea Michele to be adequate, but probably wouldn't miss h

Interesting and excited that he's being more flexible. I'll forgive him for Bad Cinderella if we can get the Hollywood Bowl's Superstar at Radio City for a Week. "
I loved Bad Cinderella and hated Cynthia Erivo in Jesus Christ Superstar, but loved this article - thanks for sharing.

No, the specific post to which I'm replying seems to be irrelevant.

I'm not trying to be contentious, but I don't understand what you mean by this. In the current London version, the chandelier (albeit a new, round one) rises from the stage during the overture and crashes to the stage at the end of Act 1, just like it did in the original production. The reports posted here indicate that the chandelier does neither of those things in

I just can't figure out the conflicting accounts of this. Even back during the "reimagined" tour, I reported that the chandelier did not drop during either of the two performances I attended (and I sat directly under it), while others posted that it did drop.
Ironically, the promo video they're using on

I've been experiencing the inexplicable logout issue for several days now, and every time I log back in, that infernal "Topic List" is enabled again and has to be turned off. This is happening on multiple computers and in different browsers, so please stop pushing the delete cookies/cache suggestion, as it's clearly not a panacea for this site's ills.

This reviewer from Baltimore says the chandelier doesn't fall at all:
"My one disappointment with this touring production was that the chandelier, very large and ornate with hanging crystals, did not really fall but only popped a few bulbs, discharged some sparks, and jiggled a bit on its chain. The breathless fear of audience sitting underneath and others watching it almost strike them was a missing treat from the original show."
This was my experience with the "reimagined" tour from several years ago. It sounds like they're using that setup for the chandelier, and the rest of the staging is from the current London production.

Yeah, that absolutely refers to just that. I hope you go but if you are uneasy in the cold, this show will be around for years to come (I assume that's the plan?), so if you're cool to wait until next Spring, I'm sure it will still be around."
We've already got tickets for 11/21, so we'll see what happens.

I'm accustomed to a fairly lengthy arrival window for typical Broadway shows, e.g., 30-45 minutes. This affords some leeway in the event that one is held up due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., traffic, public transportation, or
