TAMMY FAYE Previews

Thanks to this board and show-score I was really afraid to see this last night ... I'm old enough to know a little bit about tammy and her husband but not much ... I wanted to see the Jessica Chastain film before the show to familiarize myself but I didn't get around to it ..

The first act was enjoyable even if the music isn't memorable and not all the jokes land. It's very campy and that was fun and some of it was truly funny.  The second act is another story.&nbs

I won a lottery ticket for this yesterday.  The lottery said standing room only but I was assigned a seat in the second row when the ticket was emailed to me.  I am not the audience for this which was apparent even in the outer space which was blaring pop music.  There was a delay in getting into the theatre with people lined up deep waiting to get until about 7:50pm for the 8pm start.  It wasn't over until 10:50pm.

The show is all over the place wit

absolutely stunned and shocked by a positive review.

saw this last night via TDF ticket (excellent orchestra seat row H dead center) and enjoyed it, even if I missed about 20% of the dialogue and jokes... great set, acting and more music than I expected.  Misted up a little by the end, as well.

i was there and thought i was in an alternate universe when the crowd popped up to give a standing ovation.  They are boosting the show score ratings.  At least the woman sitting next to me was as dumbfounded as I was.  Definite high school vibes but not NYC high school ... somewhere without

TAMMY FAYE will transfer to Broadway in 2024-2025 Season
 Aug 21 2024, 10:10:45 AM

It may be true that overseas visitors don't have the same taste but my husband and I both used to work in group tourism, domestic and international and there's a lot of those folks who buy group tickets to things so individual tastes may not come into play in that scenario.  Those tickets will be sold based on how the show is doing generally, most likely.

THE OUTSIDERS Opening Night Critics’ Reviews
 Aug 21 2024, 10:06:28 AM

I saw the show last night and the only person out was Daryl Tofa (Two-Bit) played by Jordan Chin (Swing).

The show was excellent.  I took my 23 yr old son who loved it, as well.  We watched the movie the night prior as he had no familiarity with the source material.

Brody and Brent are off for family events. Daryl is in Italy. Sky was off as well but I’m not sure why. No one has left. Just illness and vacations.

How can I find out if anyone is out of tonight's show?

Her direction certainly papers over the weaker elements and adds interest, and I thought she did well, overall, integrating the circus eleme

CABARET at the Kit Kat Club (2024) Opening Night Critics' Reviews
 Apr 21 2024, 11:53:42 PM

I didn't see this one : Review: A potent Eddie Redmayne can't save Broadway's 'Cabaret' - Los Angeles Times (latimes.com)

"If you’re looking for powerhouse singing, this outing of “Cabaret” will sorely disappoint"

" this production takes this notion of fictional integrity to a ludicrous extreme in the casting of Gayle Rankin as Sally Bowles. Jessie Buckley, a renowned singer and gripping dramatic actor, won (along with Redmayne) an Olivier for her performance in the London run. Rankin appears to have stepped into an interpretation of the part that she hasn’t the same skill set to pull off. Not only is her singing raucous but her characterization is off-putting, even antipathetic."

"What does it say about a revival of “Cabaret” in which I kept hoping that Fraulein Schneider (Bebe Neuwirth) would change the locks of her boardinghouse to keep Sally out of the production?"

Saw it this afternoon ... incredibly emotional for me relating to so many parts of the show and characters at different times of life ... a lot to love including the performances ... not crazy about the one visual used a time or two too many and a long section towards the end with just Lange - which could be tightened up a bit.

I guess this is why there are so many options on Broadway... I loved this so much.. lots of laughs in the audience and the music is great. If anything I wish there was more of it.  It is completely my vibe so I knew I'd love it.
