For his recent one on Faye Dunaway titled FAYE, he was able to have her completely open up about her life, career, and legendary manic behavior in full transparency. Heck, the opening moments of the documentary he showed the infamous clip of Bette Davis on The Johnny Carson Show speaking ill of Faye then moments later he shows
May he RIP … he was an underrated actor. I love his CC Baxter on the OLCR of PROMISES.
Word has it he was chosen to replace Orbach but Buckley wasn’t offered as the producers weren’t too enamored of her “Fran” so they went with Jill’s sister Jenny which caused a rift between the two sisters as Jill was not too happy about that.
If this is being filmed over the next 20 years what happens if (God forbid) one of the leading cast members unexpectedly passes away? What do they do then?

Isn't if curious the way she always says "Momma was funny" but NEVER gives examples? I guess the "I got rainbows coming out of my ass" is one,
I like most of Stephen Schwartz score for WICKED. I've always thought "What is this Feeling?" was a cute song - nothing more, nothing less and I never counted it as one of the show's standouts.
But boy did the movie version change my mind about this particular song. I can only compare it to what was done with "America" or "Do Re Mi" in the film adaptations of WSS and TSOM in that it elevated the song and made it a major producti

It’s almost like these are individuals putting up productions and not just a super computer that decides it's "time" for Dreamgirls. What are you doing on the daily to convince investors to pick up Dreamgirls?"
Damn girl, chill. I was expressing my opinion. No need to get your panties twisted in a knot hun.
The physical release has been moved up to February 4th.

FEATURE COMMENTARY WITH DIRECTOR JON M. CHU
FEATURE COMMENTARY WITH STARS CYNTHIA ERIVO AND ARIANA GRANDE
I saw the Original Broadway Production in 1985. It played the Gershwin. It was a faithful adaptation (give or take a few things...there were come interpolated songs) but the sentiment even then was...why?
Don Correia was "Don Lockwood", Mary D'Arcy was "Kathy Selden", Peter Slutsker was "Cosmo Brown" and Faye Grant was "Lina Lamont". I had a huge crush on Faye Grant from her stints on "The Greatest American Hero" and "V",
Had a wonderful time at the GYPSY opening night with my daughter Danielle and old pal @AndreDeShields. Audra McDonald acted the hell out of Rose and would have made Arthur Laurents proud. Arthur always wanted to see a Black Rose, and thanks to the visionary artistic director Vincent J Cardinal at CT Rep, I was the first to fulfill his wish. And now Audra is realizing his dream on Broadway. Here's to many more Black women tearing it up as Rose. After all, GYPSY is a "musical fable," not a bio. 😘
For you youngin's: Having a woman of color play Momma Rose isn't anything new or revelatory. The legendary Leslie Uggams played the role 10 years ago...

Sweets, that last part has never been questioned by me so that assumption is beyond hilarious. I’ve been dancing to the beat of my own drum since childhood. Ask those who “get” me and will tell you I suffer no fools."
Wow ! To quote a lyric from “Wicked”. . . You suffer from delusions of grandeur and are quite full of yourself!

While in the theater I was listening to the orchestrations and was wanting to hear them without the lead vocals. I will probably listen to this more than the regular Soundtrack. The orchestrations are really nice and the orchestra sounds wonderful."
Agreed! It's a thrilling listen. I do hope Powell & Schwartz are awarded an Oscar for their efforts. I've been listening to the Original Mot
